Mance and Lori Grady have worked both together and separately on these new products and innovative designs...
The MG Slide Bar is one of the truly unique advances for the bodhran. It's revolutionary. Mance developed the MG Slide Bar in response to the question he presented himself, "How can I place a good amount of pressure on the drum skin with my inside hand and also be able to move quickly up and down the inside of the drum, maintaining pressure on the head, without the distracting adhesion of the bar against the back of my hand?" The added advantage is better control of the drum and the liberating freedom of improved posture.
Mance was the first to use this particular edging on the bodhrán. It is truly more comfortable than holding a drum with the regular wooden edge.
Mance's first foray into experimenting wtih other materials in order to make the drum more comfortable to hold. Especially when you have to apply pressure to the skin with the inside hand. (now discontinued)
A handy bodhrán stand that came apart and fit into its own bag. Needed to be used on a drum with a post. Could be put in the drum case. (now discontinued)
Small and sturdy, with Celtic zoomorphic dogs from the Book of Kells, plus Mance Grady's logo gracing the center area, Lori Grady came up with this design. Works on drums with an open back or with a single post or cross-piece. Stops your drum from rolling away while in the pub or on stage. Also protects the finish when you have to set down your instrument. Can fit in your drum case.
Developed by Lori Grady in answer to complaints of lost tippers that rolled off of tables while at sessions. Not only can it be used with bodhrán tippers, but also flutes and penny whistles, too.
